What?

The Piano Player 1912 is a game project currently in solo development—an atmospheric, first-person exploration journey. It is a ”walking simulator” experience that blends historical tragedy with a moving story of survival, focusing purely on storytelling, soundscapes, and the joy of discovery. Set in 1937, the game follows researcher Robert as he discovers traces on a deserted island left by a Titanic pianist who was supposed to have perished 25 years earlier.

Why?

This is a pure passion project, an idea that has been brewing in my mind for years. I am finally mentally ready to take on this challenge. This project is a way for me to push both my professional and mental boundaries—it’s a dive into the unknown where I aim to capture the power of music and the hope born in isolation. My goal is to create a stress-free experience that leaves a lasting impression on the player.

Who?

I’m Niko, a solo developer from Finland. By nature, I’m impulsive, and long-term persistence hasn’t traditionally been my strongest suit, making this project the ultimate test for me. I am also an introvert, not used to being in the spotlight or sharing my thoughts with anyone. Through this project, I want to learn to interact with people, share this journey, and perhaps, together, make the end result even better.

The Core in a Nutshell

Mystery Across Two Timelines:
Follow researcher Robert in 1937 as he discovers traces on a deserted island left by a man who was supposed to have perished on the Titanic 25 years earlier.

Music as a Narrative Tool:
The island is filled with musical notes carved into rocks and trees by William—the Titanic’s pianist. The music isn’t just background atmosphere; it is the bridge between the two characters

A Stress-Free Experience:
The game is designed for players who want to immerse themselves in a story without the pressure of difficult puzzles, combat, or complex survival mechanics.
